These days I can make a dress in about two days, but this dress took me years to complete.

I had started this dress well before my sewing abilities were up to the challenge of finishing it, and so I was about to get half way through it then had to stop till I could understand what the directions were telling me. but this dress is also where I discovered the value of the blind-hem stitch on my sewing machine(thanks mom!)

what I found really challenging at the time, was the top-most section, with it’s box pleats and crossover straps.

for a fabric, this is a cotton two-tone green palm frond print on white background. when I found this one, I bought ever yard I could get my hands on!
