This is one of my first dresses, and my first attempt at resizing a vintage pattern.
The first thing I learned was to make a muslin mock-up anytime I’m unsure about the fit or construction of a dress. this dress has a 40″ bust line and 8 gores which at the time was complicated for me – as a result I had to do a lot of taking in after the garment was together, a lot of that taking in is uneven.
Regardless I love this dress and will be wearing it for a long time.
This dress is made from a medium weight cotton shirting with an inset of coral colored cotton linen.
I’d also made teh little jacket from this pattern in the coral colored cotton.
